Hello! My name is Brandi McGrath!

Brandi’s connection to the land runs deep, with her roots firmly planted in the rich soil of Central California. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of the area, she has spent the majority of her life on a ranch, developing a strong bond with the land and the animals that call it home. It was in 2018, however, that she discovered a new passion—the Valais Blacknose sheep. The moment Brandi laid eyes on these stunning creatures, their signature appearance, which resembled cuddly stuffed toys, immediately captivated her. The sheep’s gentle and docile nature, paired with their sweet, cheerful personalities, made an instant impression. Their distinctive, adorable faces, framed by their fluffy wool, stole her heart at first glance.

Alongside her deep connection to farming, Brandi is also an accomplished artist, specializing in oil painting. Her work has earned her numerous awards, showcasing her exceptional talent and creativity. She was the founder of Groveland Gallery in Yosemite Park, where her love of both art and nature could be celebrated. After years of running her family-owned resort, restaurant, and art gallery, Brandi and her husband Joe decided to retire and transition into a new chapter of their lives.

They moved to Oakdale, CA, and founded Black Sheep Ranch, where Brandi can continue to cultivate her love for animals and the land. Brandi’s passion for the Valais Blacknose sheep led to the creation of a breeding program that has flourished over the years. Today, Brandi is the proud shepherdess of a flock of more than 100 Valais Blacknose sheep, continuing to nurture and care for these charming animals on her ranch.
